About
The Website
RedCoatCat.com is a portfolio of Tamara ‘Meezer’ Gale. It is a central location on the internet for having all of her art work and projects in one (slightly) organized website. The gallery will only hold examples from various years that are good examples.
Categories are separated by topic and subject in the news posts so not all work ends up in the gallery section.
The ArtistMeezer is a Canadian artist that is often seen as boring and kind of a bookish type. She (yes a SHE) enjoys historical reenacting, reading used books and drinking strange teas & coffee.

The ArtI find people want to classify artists and their art to which I really don’t feel I fit into any category. I don’t limit myself to one genre but what inspires me. Over all, I love illustrating the past, since who and what we are, comes from those before us. Therefore, understanding the past will better your understanding of who you are now.
That, and illustrating history, can justify my tedious fascination with out-of-date fashions and clothing details no one else really cares about.
Why anthropomorphic animals? I find it fun to draw and a neat visual style, but nothing more than a style choice that I am not limited to.
The Mascot
The RedCoatCat started out as a username or handle online and then became a character or muse in Meezer artwork. It is much easier to link artwork to a visual character representing it, than a boring name.
He’s a Siamese Cat named Talbot wearing a 1770s British Marine uniform with a big black bow on his tail, which non of it makes any sense, but it is fun to draw.
